| About Us
Who are we and what do we offer?
We are part of two global organizations consisting of active and inactive military, current and former law enforcement officers, licensed body guards, security professionals, and professional martial artists dedicated to the education and training of personal protection and self defense. Our Houston Training Center is an officially certified extension of Hock Hochheim's Scientific Fighting Congress (SFC), and our Tactical Ninjutsu program has been endorsed by the International Combatives Self Defense Association (iCSDA).
We are, first and foremost, focused on true reality based, practical self defense, defensive tactics, and close quarter combatives that have been proven to work in modern day times. Our self defense systems are practical, realistic, and designed to be street and battlefield effective. These are the same techniques taught to government agents and military special forces such as the Navy SEALS.
We view physical fitness and personal well being as a high priority as well. Therefore, in addition to our self defense and combative programs, we do offer a selection of fitness, sport / competition, and wellness based programs such as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Yoga, and our Bootcamp and Combat Conditioning programs.
We offer:
- Tactical Ninjutsu
- Military Hand to Hand Combat
- Street Self Defense
- Apache Knife Fighting
- Jeet Kune Do / Filipino Kali (Progressive Fighting System - P.F.S. - By Paul Vunak
- Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- Boot Camp Fitness / Combat Conditioning

Our Mission
Our mission is to provide self defense instruction and training programs that provide a maximum effect with a minimum of time invested regardless of ages, size, man or woman.
Self defense isn't a style; it's a life skill. Once learned correctly, your training will be there in a moment's notice even if you haven't trained in years. The secret of the our training programs is combination of proven close quarters combat methods and modern training methods.
The methods learned were purpose driven. As research progressed, a set of criteria was developed to test all systems of martial arts. These criteria can be applied to any method of martial art or self defense. Style has nothing to do with function or purpose. It was simple, if any technique or method met these criteria, we kept it and developed it, if it didn't, we tossed it.
The purpose of Houston Combat Arts & Self Defense is never to alienate or criticize but rather unite under the sole purpose of the spreading the truth about martial arts and self defense.
